    Kanani Advisory Group started in 1998 and began conducting investment advisory business in 2006. Since that time, we’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of pre-retirees and retirees. We take our job as financial advisors seriously, and we consider it extremely rewarding to bring a greater sense of freedom and security to our clients.

    David Kanani


    David Kanani is the President of Kanani Advisory Group. David has passed his Series 65 and Series 7 examinations. He is also licensed for life insurance and annuity products in California and Kentucky, with over 30 years experience in retirement income planning. David has earned his Certified Senior Advisor designation, and maintains top ratings from the National Ethics Bureau and Better Business Bureau. David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Louisville and continues to train in order to stay abreast of constant changes in the field.

    Personal Note From David

    Hi, I’m David Kanani.

    I’ve been providing financial services since 1986. During this time, I have advised hundreds of retirees and individuals approaching retirement. My main focus is to use the safest strategies to help protect and preserve my clients’ assets, increase their retirement income, assist in reducing taxes and help them guard against inflation. I attribute my years of success to building close relationships with my clients, regardless of the size of their accounts.

    Outside of my career, I have a beautiful wife, Carrie, my high school sweetheart—whom I married in 1987. Together, we’ve been blessed with two wonderful children, Nura and Zia. Our home is in San Clemente, California.

    When I am not in the office, I love to tinker with my 1962 Morris Minor and bike ride. My family and I love to snowboard in the winter and travel in the summer.

    Neda Kanani

    Financial Professional


    Neda Kanani is a financial professional at Kanani Advisory Group. She began her career at Kanani Advisory Group part-time while still in college and has learned all aspects of the office. Neda helps support the Senior Advisor with income plans, client servicing and client meetings. She holds licenses in life and health insurance in California. Neda also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Cal State Fullerton.

    In her leisure time, Neda enjoys working out, going to the beach, off-roading in her Jeep Wrangler and spending time with her family and two dogs, Puff and Pebble.

    Fred Monjazeb

    Chief Operating Officer


    Fred Monjazeb handles all operational aspects of the business for Kanani Advisory Group. With a strong sales and marketing background as well as operational experience, Fred helps to provide managerial leadership and strategic direction to the Kanani Advisory team and ensures client satisfaction. Fred has held senior management positions at divisions of EMC, IBM and FileNet and was worldwide head of sales and operations for EMC Content Division for 4 years. Prior to that, Fred was worldwide head of sales for IBM Enterprise Content Management Division after the acquisition of FileNet by IBM in 2006. At both IBM and EMC Fred led the Go-to-Market strategy on a global basis and was responsible for the integration of numerous companies acquired to expand the companies’ product portfolios and market presence.

    Fred holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He is married, has two wonderful college-aged children and is an avid soccer fan. Kanani Advisory Group is proud to have Fred join our team.

    Carrie Kanani, JD

    Chief Administrative Officer


    Carrie handles much of the administrative aspects of the firm.  Carrie is also passionate about client service. She was previously an estate attorney practicing in Louisville, KY, with experience in both administration and client management. She earned her Juris Doctor and undergraduate degrees from the University of Louisville.

    A committed advocate of community service, Carrie is a passionate supporter of Family Assistance Ministries, a homeless prevention agency, where she has volunteered since 2009. Carrie also supports other charitable endeavors such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and The Wounded Warrior Project.

    Katherine Wheaton, MBA

    Director of Business


    Kathy manages the day to day business operations for both new and existing clients with an emphasis on compliance and customer service. 

    As a transaction specialist, Kathy strives to simplify the complex with a keen awareness of how important it is to manage the detailed steps necessary to put your financial plan in place.

    Joining Kanani Advisory Group in June 2015 with an undergraduate degree from the State University College at Buffalo and MBA from UC Irvine, Kathy comes from a diverse corporate career in senior leadership positions.  She is a seasoned professional who has been successful in cash management, developing/executing strategic business plans and team building. 

    Kathy gives back by supporting The Heroes Project which improves the care and protection of our Military Heroes and The REEL Project which works to empower populations in post conflict areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

    Veronica Felipe

    Marketing Coordinator

    As Kanani Advisory Group’s Marketing Coordinator, Veronica is charged with ensuring that clients receive the utmost service and prompt attention from our entire team. Veronica is responsible for scheduling and managing all workshops, seminars, client events and portfolio reviews. She puts her customer relations experience to work every day, whether assisting clients on the phone or in the office, she strives to provide the best experience possible to every person who encounters the Kanani Advisory Group.

    Veronica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Journalism and Cinema, Television Arts from Cal State Fullerton. Outside of the office, she enjoys meeting new people, playing ultimate frisbee and spending time with friends and family. She also has a passion for film and travel; she hopes to one day see all 50 states.
